New Laboratory Sample Tracking System Implemented for Hawaii Safe Drinking Water Branch

PORTLAND, OR - Windsor successfully implemented a Sample Analysis Tracking System (SATS) at the Hawaii Department of Health, Environmental Health Administration this week.  SATS allows the State and District Health Laboratories to manage chemistry and microbiology drinking water samples, along with the results of their analysis.  The system also generates eDWR-compliant XML documents containing drinking water analysis results, which are then loaded into SDWIS/State using their SDWIS/XMLSampling utility.

The laboratories are very pleased with their new system, and the Safe Drinking Water Branch (SDWB) is excited to now get laboratory results electronically and in near real-time.

On a related note, Windsor initiated a new system development project with the laboratories and SDWB.  The resulting Sample Collection and Reservation System will give drinking water systems a way to view sample schedule requirements and then reserve time slots at the laboratories to process and analyze their samples.
