Content Management Application

The Hawaii State Environmental Health Administration's Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response (HEER) Office and Windsor Solutions (Windsor) partnered to coordinate, design, develop and implement upgrades that greatly enhance the usability of the HEER Office Web site and accessibility of online technical, guidance and program resources.

The old Web site presented a number of challenges to the HEER Office and web site visitors. The user's ability to readily find relevant guidance and information resources to address a particular environmental issue or site-specific scenario represents the largest challenge. HEER Office staff and Web site users had to spend considerable time sifting through various documents and locations on the web site to identify targeted information.

Windsor implemented a content management application that allows the HEER Office to maintain leader page content and what's new postings. Nearly all HEER Office Web site content can be managed using this new application. Note that Windsor architected the content management application so that other Environmental Health Administration offices, branches and programs could utilize the system in the future.
