Emergency Response System
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Emergency Response program used a Spill Program Information Network (SPIN) system to record information—such as location, details, and images—related to oil and hazardous waste spills of materials throughout Oregon. DEQ wanted to migrate this Spill Data Management system from the UNIX/Oracle environment to an Emergency Response Information Management System (ERIS) in the Microsoft Windows/SQL Server 2000 environment.
Windsor Solutions followed a migration approach that had been successful on similar projects at DEQ. As part of an extensive Current Systems Analysis, Windsor reviewed the application and database using the Oracle technologies in which the Spill Data Management system was written.
Windsor used the .NET development environment to develop the new Emergency Response Information Management System, which features improved ease of use through a graphical user interface.
