Integrated Air System Design

The Hawaii State Environmental Health Administration's Clean Air Branch (CAB) and Windsor Solutions (Windsor) completed an earlier effort that confirmed business and technical requirements for an integrated branch system and established an implementation plan to guide subsequent design, development and deployment activities.

Requirements discussions centered on four separate systems: Clean Air Branch Integrated System, Electronic Reporting System, Field Inspection System, and Public Inquiry System. Together, these four systems will make it possible for the CAB to meet their overall defined information management needs.

During requirements discovery and confirmation meetings, the CAB agreed that development of the Clean Air Branch Integrated System should be undertaken first, given that it will provide the foundation for the other desired capabilities and it is required to improve data sharing across the engineering/permitting, monitoring, enforcement, planning and administration sections. The CAB also concluded that an initial project effort is needed to design this system before any development commences.

Windsor and the CAB are currently collaborating to design the new integrated system. This project covers data collection and access, and the resulting system design will consider common and individual engineering/permitting, monitoring, enforcement, planning and administration information management needs. The design effort also maintains an eye towards the required e-Permitting system interfaces and future emissions inventory integration.
