TRIDex Implementation

Windsor was contracted by Nevada Division of Environmental Protection to assist the Nevada State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) augment its current Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) invoicing process. This was achieved through enhancements to and deployment of the TRI Data Exchange and the Windsor built TRIDex application.

Consisting of two applications, TRIDex is a powerful tool to work in combination with a state’s Exchange Network Node to get easy access to this important dataset. A PC-based application (TRIServer) parses TRI XML submissions received from EPA’s CDX into a relational database. A Web-based application (TRIViewer) then allows users to browse, extract, and manage TRI submissions.

All submissions for a single facility are summarized under one convenient page, grouped by submission year. Submissions can be browsed in the familiar format of the printed Form “R” and Form “A.” TRI submission data can also be exported in comma-separated value and XML formats, for use with other third-party analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel. TRI submissions can be managed in a variety of ways, including aiding the tracking of manual submissions and association of state-specific IDs for tracking TRI facilities.
