Windsor Node 2008
Windsor has released its 5th generation Node. With a strong
track record of delivering robust EN Nodes Windsor has now delivered a Node
that supports both 1.1 and 2.0 specifications.
The Windsor Node 2008 is built on a proven architecture that
has enabled our clients to be amongst the most effective Exchange Network
Participants.
In a nutshell the Windsor Node 2008 is:
- Fully featured, all flow types, fifth generation
- Technically ambidextrous (.Net and Java; many RDBMS)
- Supporting 2.0 and 1.1 specifications
- A proven solution with wide acceptance
- Already supporting many Data flows (plugin) with the promise of ongoing sharing

Windsor Node 2008 capabilities
Node Orchestration Services
Support fully automated multi-step data exchange processes
that go beyond simple one-directional data exchanges. Node 2008 accomplishes
this through the following features:
- Global Configuration Variables – Settings that can be reused across flows
- Exchanges (Flows) – Powerful options for building and configuring the behavior of a each data flow
- Schedules – Automated processes that "fire off" on a predetermined interval
- Notifications – Email notifications when specific events occur
Integrated NAAS user administration utility
The robust and user-friendly interface allows the Node administrator to perform the following tasks:
- Create new and edit or delete existing NAAS accounts
- Manage NAAS user access policies down to flow or even data service level

Dynamic plugin architecture
To account for changes to current flows and the introduction of new ones, Windsor Node 2008 utilizes a plugin architecture capable of:
- Secure remote updates
- Integrated version control
- Introduction of new capabilities without the need to modify or even stop the already deployed Node
- High level of customization per individual data exchange process
- Reusable architecture promoting sharing
2.0 Specifications
Node 2.0 is evolutionary, not revolutionary
- Still supports the same basic operations as 1.1, but more descriptive and slightly more flexible
- Can support more robust notification scenarios
- Transition to Node 2.0 will take time
- Existing flows will continue using Node 1.1 interface
- New and upgraded flows will be required to use Node 2.0 interface
- Most EN partners will need to support both 1.1 and 2.0 flows for some period of time
