LAKE OSWEGO, OR — Windsor recently assisted the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYDEC) as they updated their data and business systems and launched a WQX flow using the Exchange Network. Windsor deployed the components necessary to establish a flow of data between NYDEC’s ambient water quality monitoring system (EQuIS 5.0) and the EPA’s national Water Quality Exchange (WQX) data repository utilizing the new WQX 2.0 schema. Windsor supported the DEC’s Division of Water as they transitioned from the legacy STORET submission mechanism to the new WQX method of data submission over the Exchange Network. This process enables the Department to more effectively share with national stakeholders, information about the surface water quality in the State’s watersheds.

Results that Reward

Windsor is helping NYDEC to respond proactively to its EPA grant commitments. Additionally, introducing the WQX data flow greatly streamlines the process of data submittal and allows the program to focus its resources on the quality of data.
