The New York State Department of Health (DOH) uses ambient air quality data from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to link air quality to epidemiological findings and better understand the effects of environmental conditions on human health. DEC and DOH wanted to automate this data exchange.

Windsor Solutions worked collaboratively with both agencies to technically link the Network Node employed by DEC with the Public Health Information Network Messaging System (PHINMS) employed by DOH.

Results that Reward

This solution breaks new ground in the area of environmental and health information sharing and is being considered as a national model for similar data exchanges.
