Beachguard installation and customization
Windsor Solutions, Inc (Windsor) is under contract with the State of Illinois Department of Public Health (DPH) to customize and implement the BeachGuard application owned by Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and sold under license agreement by Windsor.
BeachGuard is a custom software application developed by the Michigan DEQ Water Bureau to display information about beach closures and beach sampling results for monitoring locations in the state. BeachGuard is a Web-based system, allowing access to information by the general public. In addition to the public display of beach data, BeachGuard also has a section where registered individuals (such as health department and laboratory staff) can log in and enter sampling results and beach advisories. In addition to providing a mechanism to collect, manage, and share beach data with the public, BeachGuard is used by states to meet beach monitoring and advisory notification requirements to US EPA under the Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health Act of 2000 (BEACH Act). BeachGuard utilizes a Microsoft ASP.NET interface and SQL Server database.
BeachGuard can be licensed to any other government agency through a licensing agreement with Windsor.
